Austin Pendleton to Direct Lisa D’Amour’s Detroit in London
Austin Pendleton will direct the London premiere of Lisa D’Amour’s Detroit at the National Theatre’s Cottesloe in 2012, according to WhatsOnStage.com. The production will feature an all-new British cast, to be announced at a later date.
The play, a finalist for the 2011 Pulitzer Prize, is set in the adjacent backyards of two recovering addicts and their anxious middle-class neighbors. It premiered at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 2010, also under Pendleton’s direction, and the director has also been previously announced to helm a Broadway production of the play this season.
Exact dates for the London run, as well as additional information, will be announced at a later date.
