Michael Gambon to Perform Krapp’s Last Tape in West End

Michael Gambon will star in a revival of Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape, to play a limited engagement September 15-November 20 at the West End’s Duchess Theatre, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Michael Colgan will direct the production, which was first seen at Dublin’s Gate Theatre.

The play centers on a man who is reflecting on his life as he replays passages of tapes that he has made on his birthday for over 30 years.

Gambon has previously performed Beckett’s Eh, Joe and Endgame in the West End. Among his other stage credits are No Man’s Land, Celebration, Henry IV, The Caretaker, A Number, The Unexpected Man and Troilus and Cressida. On Broadway, he received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in Skylight. His many film and television credits include The Singing Detective and the Harry Potter series of films.
