Josefina Gabrielle, Tiffany Graves, Mark Umbers et al. to Join Tamzin Outhwaite in West End Sweet Charity logo

Mark Umbers will play Charlie to Tamzin Outhwaite's Charity Hope Valentine in Sweet Charity when the Menier Chocolate Factory production transfers to the West End's Theatre Royal Haymarket, beginning previews on April 23 in anticipation of an official opening on May 4. Matthew White has directed the production, which features choreography by Stephen Mear and music direction by Nigel Lilley.

With a book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, the musical will also feature Menier cast members Josefina Gabrielle, Tiffany Graves and Paul J Medford as well as Jack Edwards, Ebony Molina, Rachael Archer, Richard Jones, Gemma Maclean, Zak Nemorin, Richard Roe, Annalisa Rossi and Jez Unwin. They are joined by Kenneth Avery-Clark, Matthew Barrow, Joanna Goodwin, Alexis Owen Hobbs, and Laura Scott.

The creative team includes Tim Shortall (scenic design), Matthew Wright (costume design), David Howe (lighting design), Gareth Owen (sound design) and Chris Walker (orchestrations).

Umbers' stage credits include musicals such as Funny Girl, My Fair Lady and The Pirates of Penzance, and such plays as The Glass Menagerie, The Vortex and The Merchant of Venice. His recent television credits include The Turn of the Screw and Mistresses for the BBC. Among his film credits are Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream and Che: Part Two.
