Goodspeed Musicals has announced a change in the performance schedule for its current production of Cyrano, which began its run August 3.

Previously scheduled performances for August 29-30 and September 5-9 have been canceled and the show must now close following the 6:30pm performance on September 2 due to the departure of Blake Jenner, who plays Christian. Jenner will be leaving the company to star in an upcoming television project and Goodspeed has been unable to find a replacement. All ticket holders for the canceled performances will be contacted by the Goodspeed box office and receive a full refund.

Inspired by Edmond Rostand's classic play Cyrano de Bergerac, Cyrano is adapted and directed by Erica Schmidt in collaboration with members of the Grammy Award-winning indie alternative band the National. In addition to Jenner, the production stars Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) in the title role opposite Haley Bennett (Thank You for Your Service), who plays Roxanne. Also in the cast are Tom Riis Farrell (Ragueneau, Cadet), Damon J. Gillespie (LeBret), Patrick Kerr (Jodelet, Renaudot, Cadet), Laith Nakli (DeGuiche), Gayle Samuels (Chaperone, Mother Marthe), Claire Saunders (Orange Girl, Sister Claire), and Charlie Thurston (Montgomery, Cadet).

Cyrano features music by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of the National, with lyrics by Matt Berninger of the National and Carin Besser. The creative team also includes Jeff and Rick Kuperman (choreography), Christine Jones and Amy Rubin (scenic design), Andrea Lauer (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Jay Hilton (sound design), and Olivier Manchon (music supervision).
