Flashback Friday: Angela Lansbury Casts a Spell in Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Before the beloved film takes the stage in Chicago, look back at the original film.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks, the 1971 Disney film about a British woman (Angela Lansbury) who learns witchcraft via a correspondence course in order to stop the Nazis during World War II, is coming to the stage. Neil Bartram and Brian Hill are turning the property into a musical for Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, which will combine new material with beloved Sherman Brothers tunes heard in and cut from the movie. With that in mind, we've decided to look back on Lansbury and David Tomlinson, joined by several adorable children, as they sing the rousing "Substitutiary Locomotion."
