Three Broadway dames are getting ready to head out to sea in the upcoming Broadway premiere of the classic tuner Dames at Sea. Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita (Matilda The Musical), Mara Davi (Ever After), and Eloise Kropp (On the Town) lead the cast of this madcap musical parody of the 1930s Busby Berkeley-style movie musicals, which sets sail at the Helen Hayes Theatre September 24 in advance of an October 22 opening. They join a cast that also includes John Bolton (A Christmas Story), Danny Gardner (Lady, Be Good!), Cary Tedder (Honeymoon in Vegas). Featuring music by Jim Wise and a book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, the story follows Ruby, fresh off the bus in Manhattan, as she gets her first New York musical role — only to find out, along with the rest of the cast, that the theater is about to be demolished on opening night. Randy Skinner directs and choreographs.
