The Diamond Edition release of Aladdin marks the first time the work has ever been seen on Blu-Ray and Digital HD. It contains bonus features including deleted songs, a behind-the-scenes special that follows the creation of the Broadway production, as well as newly animated versions of Robin Williams' Genie outtakes.

Iglehart received both honors for his performance as Genie. The film version won two Academy Awards: Best Original Score, and Best Original Song for "A Whole New World".
