Aladdin and The Lion King Throw It Down at LaGuardia Airport

If only airport delays were always like this.

It was a Disney-on-Broadway smackdown at LaGuardia International Airport on Sunday night, where dozens of stranded passengers were the lucky recipients of a free concert.

While storms raged outside, the Broadway casts of Aladdin and The Lion King, which were reportedly held by delays on their way to Orlando, offered their fellow travelers a world-class showdown. The Lion King company performed their long-running show's opening number, to which the cast of Aladdin (led by Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart) responded with a freestyle rap. Each show had its turn at round 2, but judging by the crowd response, there was no clear victor…besides the happy Delta customers.
