Huntington Theatre Company has announced six of the seven productions that will comprise its 2011-2012 season.

The year will begin with Mary Zimmerman's adaptation of the musical Candide, to run September 10 - October 16. With music by Leonard Bernstein, and lyrics by Richard Wilbur with additional lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, John LaTouche, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Parker, and Leonard Bernstein, the show is based on Voltaire's satire about a young man enduring a series of poignant and funny tragedies.

Also on the theater's schedule is Rosanna Yamagiwa Alfaro's look at a woman's reaction to her husband's sudden embrace of his Asian heritage, Before I Leave You (October 14 - November 13); Yasmina Reza's exploration of two couple's battling over their children's playground spat, God of Carnage (January 6 - February 5); August Wilson's portrait of 1920s blues singer Ma Rainey, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (March 9 - April 8), to be directed by Liesl Tommy; Kirsten Greenidge's examination of the events surrounding an African-American family's search for a new home, The Luck of the Irish (March 30 - April 29), to be directed by Melia Bensussen; and Moliere's comedy about religious hypocrisy, Tartuffe (May 25 - June 24), to be directed by Peter DuBois.

A seventh production, which will run November 11 - December 11, along with casting and creative teams for the shows, will be announced shortly.
