Michael Kahn to Receive Richard Bauer Award

Michael Kahn, artistic director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company, will receive the sixth Richard Bauer Award, presented by The Board of the Washington Area Performing Arts Video Archive (WAPAVA). It will be presented to him at a ceremony at The Forum, Harman Hall on Monday, November 8.

The award recognizes outstanding achievements in Washington-area theatre, and is presented to members of the Washington-area theatre community whose work is represented in WAPAVA’s archive, the James J. Taylor Collection, at the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library, in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, and at DC’s Martin Luther King Jr. Library.

The evening will begin at 7pm, with a reception at which members of the theatre community will be celebrity servers and bartenders. Kahn will also direct a play reading with actors from theatres represented in the Taylor Collection.
