The 2009 Capital Fringe Festival has announced complete programming, with tickets now on sale. The festival will play multiple venues in Washington, D.C., July 9-26.
Among the highlights are the return of Callie Kimball's May 39th, a hit at the 2006 Cap Fringe, coupled with a newly written companion piece, May 40th. Writer/composer Shawn Northrip's Titus X, a punk rock adaptation of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, returns to the D.C.-area, conceived as part concert and part theatre and inspired by the DC music scene of Northrip's youth. Another local artist, Brent Stansell, will share My Fabulous Sex Life, an autobiographical solo piece that explores love, lust, and everything in between -- all in the shadow of the nation's phallus.
Among Cap Fringe's other offerings are Bargain Basement Game Show, Captain Squishy's Yee Haw Jamboree! (the musical), FlagBoy, Hopelessly Devoted, Krapp's Last Power Point, Lipstick Handgun, The Quick Brown Fox Jumped over the Lazy Dogs, Revolutionary! Isadora Duncan, Riding the Bull, The Terrorism of Everyday Life, and Waiting for the Trigger.
