The Kennedy Center will present what is being billed as a "pre-Broadway engagement" of Ann, written and performed by Emmy Award-winning actress Holland Taylor. Benjamin Klein will direct the show, which will play the Eisenhower Theater, December 17-January 15, 2012.

The play is a no holds barred portrait of the unforgettable governor of the Lone Star State, Ann Richards. It is based upon interviews with people who knew the Governor, as well as Taylor's research of Richards' personal and public papers at the University of Texas and hours of video footage relating to the Governor.

The production will feature scenic design by Michael Fagin, costume design by Julie Weiss, lighting design by Matthew Richards, projection design by Zachary Borovay, sound design by Ken Huncovsky and wig design by Paul Huntley.

Taylor won an Emmy for her role as Judge Roberta Kittelson on ABC's The Practice, and is also well known for her television roles on Bosom Buddies and Two and a Half Men, among others. Her stage credits include the Broadway productions of The Devils, Butley, and Moose Murders.
