Folger Theatre has announced its 2012-2013 season.

The season's first offering will be a limited engagement of the Shakespeare's Globe production of Shakespeare's Hamlet, directed by Globe artistic director Dominic Dromgoole and Bill Buckhurst, running from September 8-22. The cast includes Michael Benz, Peter Bray, Miranda Foster, Tom Lawrence, Carlyss Peer, Matthew Romain, Christopher Saul, and Dickon Tyrrell.

The Folger Theatre's first production of the season will be Peter Brook and Jean-Claude Carrière's adaptation of the 12th century Persian poem The Conference of the Birds (October 23-November 25), an imaginative tale of birds in search of the divine, directed by Aaron Posner with original music performed by Tom Teasley. The cast will feature Katie deBuys, Britt Duff, Jessica Francis Dukes, Jay Dunn, Robert Barry Fleming, Patty Gallagher, Tara Giordano, Mark Halpern, Celeste Jones, Jens Rasmussen, Annapurna Sriram, and Tiffany Rachelle Stewart.

The season will conclude in the new year with two Shakespeare plays. First, Robert Richmond will direct Henry V (January 22-March 3), a play about the legendary military actions of a young king, with a cast including Zach Appelman, Louis Butelli, Ed Christian, Katie deBuys, Catherine Flye, Chris Genebach, James Keegan, Pomme Koch, Hugh Nees, Cameron Pow, Andrew Schwartz, Richard Sheridan Willis, and Jessica Witchger. Henry V is produced in association with the Folger exhibition Nobility and Newcomers in Renaissance Ireland, on view beginning January 25. Finally, Richmond will direct Twelfth Night (April 30-June 9), an unforgettable journey of bittersweet love performed by a cast featuring Tonya Beckman, Louis Butelli, James Konicek, Joshua Morgan, and Craig Wallace.
