Veanne Cox, David Schramm Set for Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Merry Wives of Windsor

Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced casting for The Merry Wives of Windsor, to run June 12-July 15 in Sidney Harman Hall. Stephen Rayne will direct.

Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor tells the story of Falstaff, an impoverished knight, who plots to woo two wealthy wives at the same time. Director Stephen Rayne’s production is set at the end of World War I in the wealth-conscious atmosphere of a small English town.

The cast will feature Veanne Cox (Margaret Page), Michael Mastro (Ford), and David Schramm (Falstaff) as well as Bev Appleton (Bardolph), Remy Brettell (William Page), Jarlath Conroy (Shallow), Alyssa Gagarin (Anne Page), Amy Hohn (Mistress Quickly), Michael Keyloun (Slender), Jimmy Kieffer (Host), Floyd King (Hugh Evans), James Konicek (Pistol), Caralyn Kozlowski (Alice Ford), Hugh Nees (Nym), Ian Pederson (Robin), Kurt Rhoads (Page), Tom Story (Doctor Cauis), and Mark J. Sullivan (Fenton). Ensemble members will include Aayush Chandan, Caroline Coleman, Michael Gregory, Aaryn Kopp, Joey LePage, Matthew McGee, and Aidan White.

The design team will include Dan Conway (set design), Thom Weaver (lighting design), and Wade Laboissonniere (costume design).
