The play, which garnered a 2010 Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Resident Production, follows young philosopher Baruch de Spinoza (played by Alexander Strain, 2010 Helen Hayes Award nominee for this performance) as he faces excommunication from the Jewish community for his provocative, subversive new ideas. The conversation culminates in a stimulating, interactive "Spinozium" (Spinoza Symposium) where leading authors and scholars from around the country re-open the case against Spinoza and his accusers.
Joining Strain in the cast are Colleen Delany (Rebekah), Emma Jaster (Clara), Michael Kramer (Ben Israel), Brandon McCoy (Simon), Lawrence Redmond (Valkenburgh), and Michael Tolaydo (Rabbi Mortera).
