John Scherer, Ruth Williamson, et al. Set for White Christmas Tour

Casting has been announced for the new national tour of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, to be produced by Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars. The show will have a preview engaement at the Municipal Auditorium in Chattanooga, TN on October 29-30 and then open at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA, November 2-7. As previously reported, Norb Joerder will direct the production, which will featurechoreography by three-time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner.

Featuring a book by David Ives and Paul Blake, the musical tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn, and finding their perfect mates in the bargain. It includes such Irving Berlin hits as “Blue Skies,” “How Deep is the Ocean?” “Sisters,” “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” and the title song.

John Scherer will head the cast as Bob Wallace, with Amy Bodnar as Betty Haynes, Denis Lambert as Phil Davis, Shannon M. O’Bryan as Judy Haynes, Ruth Williamson as Martha, Erick Devine as General Waverly, Tony Lawson as Ralph Sheldrake, and 11-year-old actress Mary Peeples as the General’s daughter, Susan Waverly.

The cast will also feature Don Rey, Mike Nulty, James Young, Adinah Alexander, Andrew Black, Scott Brateng, Melinda Cowan, Con O’Shea-Creal, Brandon Davidson, Jenny Florkowski, Megan Jimenz, Matthew Kirk, Janelle Neal, Amanda Paulson, Ashley Peacock, Kristyn Pope, Kelly Sheehan, Haley Swindal, Merrill West, and Richard Riaz Yoder.

The production will feature scenic design by Anna Louizos, scenic supervision and adaptation by Kenneth Foy, lighting design by Ken Billington, and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald and Erich Bechtel.

The tour will continue on to Greenville, SC @ The Peace Center (November 9 – 14), Hartford, CT @ The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts (November 16-21), Schenectady, NY @ Proctors (November 22-28), Tampa, FL @ David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts (November 30-December 5), Charlotte, NC @ Blumenthal Performing Arts Center (December 7-12), and Chicago, IL @ Bank of America Theatre (December 15-January 2).
