Jerry Lewis to Direct the World Premiere of The Nutty Professor at Tennesse Performing Arts Center

The Tennessee Performing Arts Center will present the world premiere of a the musical The Nutty Professor, July 24-August 19 in the James K. Polk Theater. Jerry Lewis will direct the production.

Based on the classic 1963 film, in which Lewis starred, The Nutty Professor follows chemistry Professor Kelp, who creates a formula to turn himself into a heartthrob.
The show features music by Tony Award winner Marvin Hamlisch and a book and lyrics by three-time Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes.

Michael Andrew will star as Professor Julius Kelp. Additional casting will be announced at a late date.
