Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre Announces 2012-2013 Season

Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre has announced the seven productions for its 2012-13 season


The 2012- 2013 season opens with the national tour of Tony Award-winning musical Memphis (September 18-October 7), featuring music by David Bryan and lyrics by Bryan and Joe DiPietro. It wil be directed by Christopher Ashley and feature choreography by Sergio Trujillo.


Up next is The Addams Family (October 24 – November 11), which features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. The production is directed and designed by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, with production supervision by Jerry Zaks and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.


The season continues with ELF- The Musical (November 30 – December 31), which has a book by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin.


Up next, Noah Racey will play Harold Hill in The Music Man, which features book, music, and lyrics by Meredith Wilson. Bill Berry will direct the production.

Up next will be the award-winning musical Grey Gardens (March 16-May 26), written by Doug Wright (book), Scott Frankel (music), and Michael Korie (lyrics), and the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys (April 4 – May 11)., which is directed by Des McAnuff, choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, and co-written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, composer Bob Gaudio, lyricist Bob Crewe.


The season will conclude with Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic operetta, The Pirates of Penzance (July 11 – August 4), to be directed by David Armstrong.
