On November 7, the Curran’s editor at jarge Kevin Sessums will sit down with Tony Award-nominated actor Jonathan Groff, who is currently starring in the smash hit musical Hamilton, for a special conversation and performance at the Curran Theatre. The event will be presented as part of Groundbreakers With Kevin Sessums, Curran: Under Construction's recently announced occasional onstage series.

Curran: Under Construction features an array of diverse works, each with ties to the Bay Area. Upcoming events in the series will include Ghost Quartet (October 23-31), Steve Cuiffo is Lenny Bruce (November 19-21), Stew — Notes of a Native Song (December 3-5), Story Pirates’ Greatest Hits Show (December 12-20), and Taylor Mac’s 24-Decade History of Popular Music (January 17-31).

Jonathan Groff first made his mark on Broadway in 2006 with his Tony-nominated lead role in the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening. Since then he has appeared in Glee and The Normal Heart in addition to lending his voice to the character of Kristoff in Disney's Frozen. From October 27-November 29, Groff will be taking a short leave from his role as King George in Broadway's Hamilton, to shoot the HBO film that will serve as the series finale of the Bay Area-set series Looking, in which he starred.

"I am thrilled to have Jonathan as my next guest in my Groundbreakers series at the Curran," said Kevin Sessums in a statement. "I've known Jon since his days starring in Spring Awakening on Broadway and have loved watching his career take off ever since."
