Seth Eisen’s Blackbird: A Queer Vocal History to Premiere at Mama Calizo’s

The world premiere of Seth Eisen’s solo show, Blackbird: A Queer Vocal History will debut at Mama Calizo’s Voice Factory, November 14-23.

A hybrid of live performance, puppetry, movement, music, video, song, and storytelling, this historical musical pastiche of queer music depicts gay performers from the 1930s to the present who, despite their outsider status, found innovative ways to be out, queer and vocal.

The production features video direction is by Alanna Simone and musical direction by Sean Feit. Eisen is an interdisciplinary performing and visual artist who has been performing, exhibiting, curating and collaborating with various artists in the Bay Area since 1994.
