The Marsh has announced selections for its fall/winter season. These works will be seen in addition to two summertime hits — Don Reed’s East 14th – Tales of a Reluctant Player and Rick Reynolds’ Only the Truth is Funny: Mid-Life at the Oasis — which have been extended to October 10 and September 26, respectively.

Dan Hoyle will be represented with two pieces: Tings Dey Happen (September 10-26), about the year the writer spent in war-torn Nigeria, will play at the Marsh before departing for a run in Nigeria, while his newest play, The Real Americans, will begin performances on January 7. This piece has been developed from a 100-day tour that the writer took through small-town America.

Ann Randolph’s multi-character solo Loveland (October 1-November 14) is about a woman on an airline flight who confronts both her fellow passengers and the loss of the biggest love of her life. Charlie Varon returns to the Marsh with Rabbi Sam (October 17-November 22), a portrait of a man who wants to reinvent American Judaism.

The theater will also offer, in association with the Flying Actor Studio, an International Czech Theater Festival (October 21-28). Productions will include Albert’s Fear, about the triumphs of a small boy over his timidity and indecisiveness, and Polaris in which two 19th century arctic explorers test reality and the imagination in the unendurable cold. The Marsh’s fall/winter programming will be rounded out with a production of Ron Cohen’s The Waves, presented by the company’s teen troupe and holiday shows that will be announced at a later date.
