Kathleen Turner to Star in PTC’s Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins

Two-time Tony Award nominee Kathleen Turner will star in the world premiere of Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins, by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel, to run at the Philiadelphia Theatre Company, March 19-April 18.

The show, to be directed by David Esbjornson, is based on the writings of the late political journalist Molly Ivins. The production will replace Theresa Rebeck’s Mauritius, which the company plans to produce at a future date.

Tuner’s Broadway credits include Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Graduate, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and she recently starred Off-Broadway in The Third Story. Her many film credits include War of the Roses, Romancing the Stone, Prizzi’s Honor, Body Heat, and Peggy Sue Got Married.
