The New York International Fringe Festival came to a close Sunday night with a party and the announcement of the 2012 FringeNYC Overall Excellence Awards.

Four of the award-winning shows — 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, Independents, Pieces, and Salamander Starts Over — have previously been announced to return as part of the FringeNYC encores series. Additional shows — about a dozen works in total — will be announced shortly.
