Rattlestick Playwrights Theater celebrated its ongoing production of Michael Laurence's new play, Hamlet in Bed, on September 10. Directed by Lisa Peterson and starring Laurence and Annette O'Toole, the work officially opens September 17, and will run through October 25.

The play follows Michael, a neurotic actor obsessed with finding his real mother and playing the famous gloomy Dane. It is described as "a twisty and darkly comic story about mothers and sons — about what it means to live a life in the theatre, both a generation ago, and now — and about families — the ones we're born into, and the ones we find along the way."

The creative team for Hamlet in Bed includes set design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Scott Zielinski, sound design by Bart Fasbender, projection design by Dave Tennent, and fight direction by J. David Brimmer.
