Keith Carradine, Laurie Metcalf, and Karen Young will join the previously announced Josh Hamilton, Marin Ireland, Alessandro Nivola, Maggie Siff, and Frank Whaley in the New Group's revival of Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind. Ethan Hawke will direct the production, which will begin previews January 29 in anticipation of a February 18 opening.
In the play, a man who believes he may have murdered his wife seeks refuge with his abusively unstable mother, while his brother goes to investigate and finds himself caught in the confusing currents of revenge and longing.
The previously announced Deirdre O'Connell will no longer appear, as she will continue on in her role in Circle Mirror Transformation, which recently announced a return engagement at Playwrights Horizons.
