Bio:
Born in Carbondale, Illinois, Laurie Metcalf is best known for her role as Jackie Harris on the television show Roseanne, for which she won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress, and was also nominated for two Golden Globe Awards. Metcalf is one of the founding members of Chicago's famed Steppenwolf Theatre. In addition to many award winning roles at Steppenwolf, Metcalf starred alongside Nathan Lane in 2008 in the Broadway production of November for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. She won a Drama Desk Award for her role in 1985's Balm in Gilead.
