Initial casting has been announced for the New York premiere of Tony Kushner’s The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism With a Key to the Scriptures, which will be co-produced by Signature Theater and the Public Theater in association with the Guthrie Theater, and which will play the Public, March 22-June 12.

The production, which will open officially on May 5, will be directed by Michael Greif, who helmed the show’s world premiere at the Guthrie Theater in April, 2009.

The production will feature Bill Camp (Adam), Michael Cristofer (Gus), Linda Emond (Empty), Michael Esper (Eli), Steven Pasquale (Vinny), and Stephen Spinella (Pill). Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The work takes place in the summer of 2007, as Gus Marcantonio, a retired longshoreman, summons his children to the family’s Brooklyn brownstone for a series of shocking announcements.

Greif is currently represented as the director of Signature’s production of Kushner’s Angels in America.
