Katie Holmes, Terrence Howard, Al Pacino, Michael Shannon, Kevin Spacey, Patrick Wilson, et al. to Be Featured in Sundance Competition Films

The Sundance Film Festival has announced the lineup of films to be seen during the Festival’s run, January 20-30 in Park City, Utah.

Films getting their premiere at the festival include Dito Montiel’s The Son of No One, starring Al Pacino, Katie Holmes, and Channing Tatum; Kevin Smith’s Red State starring John Goodman and Melissa Leo; JC Chandor’s Margin Call, starring Kevin Spacey; David Mackenzie’s Perfect Sense, starring Ewan McGregor; Tom McCarthy’s Win Win starring Paul Giamatti and Amy Ryan; and Miguel Areta’s Cedar Rapids, starring John C. Reilly and Sigourney Weaver.

Among the films in the dramatic competition are Raashad Ernesto Green’s Gun Hill Road, featuring Esai Morales, Judy Reyes, and Vanessa Aspillaga; Vera Farmiga’s Higher Ground, in which the Oscar-nominated actress stars alongside Norbert Leo Butz and Dagmara Dominicyzk; Matthew Chapman’s The Ledge, starring Charlie Hunnam, Liv Tyler, Patrick Wilson, and Terrence Howard; Sam Levinson’s The Loved Ones, starring Demi Moore, Kate Bosworth, Ellen Barkin, Ellen Burstyn, and Jeffrey DeMunn; Sean Durkin’s Martha Marcy May Marlene, co-starring Hugh Dancy and Sarah Paulson; and Jeff Nichols’ Take Shelter, starring Michael Shannon, Kathy Baker, and Jessica Chastain.

The documentary competition will include Susanne Rostock’s Sing Your Song, a portrait of singer Harry Belafonte’s contribution to the civil rights movement and social justice; Morgan Neville’s Troubadours, which follows the lives of singer-songwriters Carole King and James Taylor; and Constance Marks’ Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey, a portrait of Sesame Street‘s Kevin Clash.
