Alan Cumming, Carrie Fisher, Angela Lansbury, Natalie Portman, Liev Schreiber, et al. Set for New York Times’ Arts & Leisure Weekend

Five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury, who stars in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music as Madame Armfeldt, has been added to the schedule for The New York Times‘ Arts & Leisure Weekend, with events to be held at TheTimesCenter (242 West 41st Street), January 7-10.

The series will open on Thursday, January 7 at 6pm with a conversation with David Shiner, writer/director of Cirque du Soleil’s Banana Shpeel, along with a performance. Jason Zinoman will conduct an interview, which will also include the show’s choreographer Jared Grimes and dancers from the cast.

Lansbury will discuss her musical training and influences with Anthony Tommasini on Sunday, January 10 at 10am. Highlights will also include talks with Liev Schreiber (January 9 at 10am), Alan Cumming (January 9 at 6pm), Natalie Portman (January 9 at 8pm), All My Children actors Susan Lucci, Cameron Mathison, Rebecca Budig, and Debbi Morgan, and executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers (January 10 at Noon), playwrights Donald Margulies, John Patrick Shanley and Beth Henley (January 10 at 2pm), James McAvoy (January 10 at 4pm), Carrie Fisher (January 10 at 6pm), and Jeff Bridges (January 10 at 8pm).

Participants will include Paul Shaffer (January 7 at 8pm), Rosanne Cash (January 8 at 6pm), Jimmy Fallon (January 8 at 8pm), Precious‘ Lee Daniels & Gabourey Sidibe (January 9 at Noon), Top Chef‘s Padma Lakshmi, Gail Simmons and Eric Ripert (January 9 at 2pm), and best-selling authors Lee Child and Carol O’Connell (January 9 at 4pm).
