Phyllis Newman and George S. Irving to Participate in November 20 Bells Are Ringing Talkback

Phyllis Newman and George S. Irving will participate in the Saturday, November 20 matinee post-show talkback of the City Center Encores! production of Bells Are Ringing. The show, which runs through November 21, is directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall with music direction by Rob Berman.

Featuring music by Jule Styne and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, Bells Are Ringing focuses on Ella, a lonely young woman can’t help getting involved in the lives of her answering service clients. The score includes “Just in Time,” “The Party’s Over,” “I Met a Girl,” and “Long Before I Knew You.”

Newman and Irving both appeared in the show’s original Broadway production, and Newman was married to Adolph Green.

The City Center production features Kelli O’Hara (Ella Peterson), Will Chase (Jeffrey Moss), Dylan Baker (Inspector Barnes), Bobby Cannavale (Blake Barton), Judy Kaye (Sue Summers), Brad Oscar (Dr. Kitchell), David Pittu (Sandor Pratz), Danny Rutigliano (Francis), Jeffrey Schecter (Carl), and John C. Vennema (Larry Hastings).

The ensemble includes Clyde Alves, Meggie Cansler, Andrew Cao, Niffer Clarke, Rachel Coloff, Jack Doyle, Leah Edwards, Kimberly Fauré, Marya Grandy, Michael Halling, Max Kumangai, Alyse Alan Louis, Michael Marcotte, Shina Ann Morris, Kevin Munhall, William Ryall, Jennifer Savelli, Anthony Wayne, J.D. Webster, and Anna Aimee White.
