Whoopi Goldberg, Anne Meara, and Eli Wallach will take part in a public memorial for singer Mary Travers, who died of cancer in September at age 72, according to The New York Times. The service will take place at 7pm on Monday, November 9 at Riverside Church, with tickets to be made available that day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other participants will include singers Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, and Tom Paxton.

Travers appeared in the 1958 Broadway revue The Next President. She joined up with Yarrow and Stookey in 1961 and formed Peter, Paul & Mary. For nearly a decade, the group had numerous hit albums and top-selling songs, most notably their renditions of "If I Had a Hammer," "Puff the Magic Dragon," "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," "Blowin' in the Wind," and "Leaving on a Jet Plane." The group disbanded in 1970, after which Travers released several solo albums; the trio reunited in 1978 and performed periodically over the years. They performed two special week-long Broadway concerts, one in 1986 and one in 1989.

City Center Encores! production of the classic George and Ira Gershwin is pleasingly zany, but lacks a little heart.
