Martin Scorsese’s A Letter to Elia Documentary to Be Shown on PBS, Part of New Boxed Set of Kazan Film

A Letter to Elia, a documentary directed by Martin Scorsese and Kent Jones about Tony Award- and Academy Award-winning director Elia Kazan’s life and career, will be included in the “Elia Kazan Film Collection” boxed set, which Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release on November 9, according to The New York Times.

The documentary is being screened this month as part of the New York Film Festival and will also be shown will be shown on PBS’ American Masters series on October 4.

The boxed set will contain 15 of the director’s films, which will also be shown theatrically in the coming months. Kazan’s many films include A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront, America, America, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Viva Zapata!.

Kazan started as a stage actor, and later directed and produced dozens of Broadway shows, including Death of a Salesman, All My Sons, A Streetcar Named Desire, One Touch of Venus, Sweet Bird of Youth, and After the Fall.
