La MaMa will present Catherine Filloux’s new play Luz at the company’s First Floor Theater from September 28 to October 14. Jose Zayas directs the projection, which is a Watson Arts Project.
In the play, set from a garbage dump in Guatemala City to tent cities in Haiti, three women, survivors of targeted gender-based violence, search for hope with the help of a human rights lawyer.
Kim Brockington, Peter Jay Fernandez, Lynette R. Freeman, Bobby Plasencia,
Steve Rishard, Kimber Riddle, Julissa Roman, and Teresa Yenque appear in the production, which features music by Sergio R. Reyes.
