Walking With Dinosaurs National Tour to Conclude in September

Walking With Dinosaurs-The Arena Spectacular will conclude its three-year national tour with shows at the Honda Center in Anaheim, September 1-5, followed by seven performances at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, September 9-12.

Based on the award-winning BBC Television series, the touring extravaganza depicts the dinosaurs’ evolution, complete with the climatic and tectonic changes that took place, which led to the demise of many species. The piece depicts interactions between realistic-looking animatronic dinosaurs, and the audience sees how carnivorous dinosaurs evolved to walk on two legs, and how the herbivores fended off their more agile predators.

Artistic Director William May developed the show based on an original idea by Bruce Mactaggart. It is directed by Scott Faris, and the creatures are designed and built by Sonny Tilders. The creative team also includes Peter England (set and projections), John Rayment (lighting), James Brett (composer), and Warner Brown (script).

The production has won the THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Touring Event (2007) and the Billboard Touring Award for Creative Content (2008) as well as the Pollstar Concert Industry Award for Most Creative Stage Production (2009).
