Tony nominee Hank Azaria and Glee star Jayma Mays will join the previously announced Alan Cumming, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Winters, and George Lopez in the live-action/animated Smurfs movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Raja Gosnell will direct the film, which has a screenplay by David N. Weiss & J. David Stem and Jay Sherick & David Ronn.

The Smurfs were created in 1958 by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford, better known as Peyo, and have spawned a number of print and small screen incarnations worldwide.

Azaria will play the evil wizard Gargamel, the sworn enemy of the Smurfs. The actor received a Tony nomination for Monty Python’s Spamalot and also starred on Broadway in The Farnsworth Invention. He’s also well known for his voice work on The Simpsons. Mays will play the female human lead, the pregnant wife of Harris’ character. She is best known for playing Emma Pillsbury on Glee.
