Jessica Chastain, Brad Pitt, et al. Honored by National Society of Film Critics

Jessica Chastain, who will star in the upcoming Broadway revival of The Heiress, has been named Best Supporting Actres by The National Society of Film Critics for her work in The Tree of Life, Take Shelter and The Help.


The group gave Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia its Best Picture Award, and named the film’s star Kirsten Dunst as Best Actress; Brad Pitt won Best Actor for his work in Moneyball and The Tree of Life; Albert Brooks was named Best Supporting Actor for Drive.

Terrence Malick was named Best Director for The Three of Life, which also earned Best Cinematography for Emanual Lubezki.


The group also gave out numerous “Heritage Honors,” include one to:BAM Cinematek for its complete Vincente Minnelli retrospective, and to the Museum of Modern Art for its extensive retrospective of Weimar Cinema.
