The 92nd Street Y has announced casting for the 2011 line-up for its Lyrics & Lyricists American Songbook series, under the overall artistic direction of Deborah Grace Winer, with different guest artistic directors for individual concerts.

Broadway music director David Loud will be the artistic director for On a Clear Day: The Musical Vision of Burton Lane (February 12-14), celebrating Lane’s music and collaborations with lyricists from E.Y. “Yip” Harburg to Alan Jay Lerner.
The cast will feature Heidi Blickenstaff, Liz Callaway, James Clow, Joshua Henry, Michele Ragusa, and John Cullum.

Next up, Ted Chapin will be the artistic director and host for Stage Door Canteen: Broadway Responds to WW II (March 12-14), featuring songs from Irving Berlin, Frank Loesser and more. The cast will feature Anderson Davis, Jeffry Denman, Brandon Victor Dixon, Betsy Wolfe, and more.

Winer will oversee The Crowd’s at El Morocco: The Heyday of the New York Nightclubs (April 30-May 2), which conjures the brassy spots and smoky boîtes that were the musical playpens for artists from the Gershwins and Ethel Merman to Sammy Cahn and the Rat Pack. The cast will include Debby Boone, LaTanya Hall, James Naughton, Billy Stritch, and Karen Ziemba.

The season will conclude with Carried Away: Being Comden and Green (May 21-23), which will be created under the artistic direction of Green’s widow, Tony Award winner Phyllis Newman, who will host the evening. Casting will be announced shortly.
