Richard Maxwell to Participate in Whitney Museum’s "Biennial"

The noted theater director Richard Maxwell has been selected as one of the participants in the Whitney Museum of American Art’s 75th annual “Biennial,” which opens on March 1.


Among the many other other participants will be artists Dennis Cooper, Andrea Fraser, Kate Levant, and Nick Mauss; filmmakers Vincent Gallo, Werner Herzog, and Frederick Wiseman; dancer and choreographer Michael Clark; and the rock band Red Krayola.


Maxwell, who is head of the New York City Players, will collaborate with the Wooster Group on their next offering, Early Plays, a compendium of works by Eugene O’Neill, that will play at St. Ann’s Warehouse, February 15-March 4.
