Roundabout Theatre Company has announced additional principal casting for its benefit concert reading of Damn Yankees, to take place at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Monday, December 11, at 7:30pm.

Newly announced are Matthew Morrison as Joe Hardy, Stephen Bogardus as Joe Boyd, Annie Golden as Doris, Julie Halston as Sister, and Adrienne Warren as Gloria Thorpe.

They join Danny Burstein as Van Buren, Victoria Clark as Meg Boyd, Whoopi Goldberg as Applegate, and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Lola. Full casting is still to be announced.

Tony winner Kathleen Marshall directs the one-night-only presentation of the 1955 musical, featuring a score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, and a book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop. The show is described as follows: "Would you do anything to help your favorite baseball team win the pennant? In the Faustian baseball musical, Damn Yankees, Joe Boyd sells his soul to the devil to be the home run hitter that will guide his favorite team, the Washington Senators, to a win against those 'Damn Yankees.'"

Proceeds from the benefit concert reading will support Roundabout Theatre Company’s many programs and initiatives, including Education at Roundabout.
