Abingdon Theatre Company will kick off its 25th anniversary 2017-18 season with a gala honoring stage and screen legend Bebe Neuwirth on Monday, October 23, at The Edison Ballroom. And in honor of the two-time Tony and Emmy Award winner, the event will feature a special all-star live performance of the John Kander and Fred Ebb musical revue And the World Goes 'Round.
The cast will include Tony nominee Brenda Braxton (Chicago), Ruthie Henshall (Miss Saigon), Tony winner Cady Huffman (The Producers), Telly Leung (Aladdin), Kecia Lewis (Once on This Island), Bianca Marroquín (In the Heights), Drama Desk Award nominee Julia Murney (Wicked), two-time Tony nominee Mary Beth Peil (Anastasia), Angie Schworer (Something Rotten!), and more to be announced later. The production will feature choreography by Deidre Goodwin, musical direction by Kevin David Thomas, and direction by Chad Austin.
And the World Goes 'Round is described as a "nonstop hit-parade" that "features unforgettable gems including 'All That Jazz,' 'Maybe This Time,' 'Colored Lights' and 'New York, New York,' seamlessly woven into an unforgettable evening of musical theatre."
