Helen Carey, Michael Hayden, Michael Thomas Holmes, et al. Set for Guthrie Theater’s The Winter’s Tale

The Guthrie Theater has announced complete casting for The Winter’s Tale, to run January 29 – March 27. As previously announced, Jonathan Munby will direct the production.

Shakespeare’s dark romance unfolds in both Sicily and Bohemia and looks at what happens when the ruler of one of those countries becomes unjustifiably suspicious of his wife’s fidelity.

In addition to the previously reported Helen Carey who will play Paulina, the company will feature Michael Hayden (Sicilian King Leontes), Ansa Akyea (Archidamus), Christina Baldwin (Emilia) Raye Birk (Old Shepherd), John Catron (Young Shepherd), Bob Davis (Camillo), Sean Michael Dooley (Cleomenes), Tyson Forbes (Dion/Bear), Emily Gunyou Halaas (Mopsa), Michael Thomas Holmes (Autolycus), Juan Rivera Lebron (Florizel), Bill McCallum (Polixenes), Michelle O’Neill (Hermione), Suzanne Warmanen (Dorcas/Oracle), Christine Weber (Perdita) and Stephen Yoakam (Antigonus/Time). Noah Coon and Devon Solwold will share the role of Mamillius.

The creative team will include Alexander Dodge (scenic design), Linda Cho (costume design), Scott W. Edwards (sound design), Daniel Pelzig (choreography), and Adam Wernick (original music).
