Xanadu to Receive South Korean Production in 2008

The hit Broadway musical Xanadu will get a South Korean-language production in Seoul in 2008.

Based on the 1980 film of the same name, Xanadu has a book by Douglas Carter Beane. The show is directed by Christopher Ashley, with choreography by Dan Knechtges. Eric Stern is musical director. The show features music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar, including the pop hits “It’s Magic,” “Suddenly,” “Xanadu,” and “Evil Woman.” Other songs include “I’m Alive” and “Party All Over the World.”

The Broadway production stars Kerry Butler, Cheyenne Jackson, Tony Roberts, Mary Testa, and Jackie Hoffman. The original cast recording will be released in stores by PS Classics on January 8 and is currently available on the label’s website.
