Helen Hayes Award winner Geraint Wyn Davies and Broadway veteran Pamela Payton-Wright will head the cast of the Shakespeare Theatre Company's production of Richard III, January 16-March 18. The production, which is the company's first offering in the citywide "Shakespeare in Washington" celebration, will be directed by Michael Kahn, STC's artistic director.

The show's cast will also include Ralph Cosham, Edward Gero, Tana Hicken, Floyd King, Claire Lautier, and Andrew Long. Additional casting and creative team information will be announced at a later date.

Davies won the 2005 Helen Hayes Award for his role in STC's production of Cyrano and played Edmund in Lincoln Center Theater's 2004 production of King Lear.

Payton-Wright has appeared on Broadway in such show as Long Day's Journey Into Night, The Glass Menagerie, and Mourning Becomes Electra, for which she won a Drama Desk Award. This season, she has appeared Off-Broadway in Indian Blood and regionally in The Things You Least Expect.
