The 11th episode of Mo Brady and Nikka Graff Lanzarone's show-business podcast, The Ensemblist, has been released. Entitled "Gypsy Robe," it discusses the Gypsy Robe ceremony, one of Broadway's most-loved but least-heralded traditions.
The episode features interviews with three performers who have won the Gypsy Robe. Gypsy Robe ceremony takes place on the opening night of every new Broadway musical with a chorus. The award honors the chorus performer with the most Broadway credits. Podcast interviewees include Harvey Evans (Oklahoma!), Lisa Gajda (Chaplin), and Eric Sciotto (The Mystery of Edwin Drood).
Upcoming episodes will feature interviews with ensemblists, a backstage look at holidays on Broadway, and a listener-question episode.
