CARTOON: If the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Catered to Drama Buffs

Sure, the Rockettes are impressive and musical numbers are fun, but aren’t you always waiting for something a little more…Beckett?

There aren’t many artists whose work fully embodies the essence of Thanksgiving in America the way Samuel Beckett’s does — if family dinners can’t be described as “Theater of the Absurd,” what can? So why isn’t Beckett better represented in that most iconic of Thanksgiving traditions, the Macy’s Parade?
