On Friday, November 18, Charles Busch promoted the upcoming November 28 staged reading of Matthew Lombardo's one-woman show, Tea at Five, with a tea party among friends at Sardi's Restaurant. He was joined by Isabel Keating, Julie Halston, and Ali Forney Center Executive Director Carl Siciliano.
The evening, to be directed by Rob Ruggiero, will benefit The Ali Forney Center. Producer Daryl Roth and Siciliano will introduce the event.
The play takes place at Hepburn's Connecticut home in 1983 after the Oscar-winning star was injured in a car crash. The accident affords the now legendary star an opportunity to reflect on her turbulent childhood, the triumphs and failures of her career and her heartbreaking romance with Spencer Tracy.
