Broadway veteran Anthony Rapp will star in a reading of Nocturne, written by his brother, playwright Adam Rapp. The event, called Rapp Reads Rapp, will benefit Royal Family Productions, and be held at Symphony Space on Monday, December 12 at 8pm.

In the piece, a former piano prodigy recounts the tragic events that tore his family apart.

Anthony Rapp is perhaps best known for originating the role of Mark Cohen in Rent (original workshop, Off-Broadway, Broadway, Chicago and London productions, and feature film version). Additional stage credits include Precious Sons, Six Degrees of Separation, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Destiny of Me, and his solo show Without You, based on his memoir of the same name.

Adam Rapp’s Red Light Winter was named a finalist for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize. His many other plays include Blackbird, Stone Cold Dead Serious, The Metal Children, The Hallway Trilogy, Bingo with the Indians, and Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling, produced Off-Broadway earlier this season.
