The Public Theater has extended the run of Richard Foreman's Idiot Savant through December 20. The piece, written and directed by Foreman, was originally scheduled to close on December 13.

Presented in association with Foreman's Ontological-Hysteric Theater, the piece is comedy laced with philosophy and includes existential and metaphysical acrobatics, as well as a game of inter-species golf with a Giant Duck.

Willem Dafoe stars as the title character. The company also features Alenka Kraigher (Marie), Elina Löwensohn (Olga); and Joel Israel, Eric Magnus, and Daniel Allen Nelson (Servants).

The creative team includes Peter Ksander and Foreman (scenic design), Gabriel Berry (costume design), Heather Carson (lighting design), and Travis Just (sound design).
