Laura Linney to Host PBS’ Masterpiece Classic Series

Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Laura Linney will host PBS’ Masterpiece Classic series, starting on January 4.

The 2009 season will include adaptations of Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, and four works by Charles Dickens: Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Little Dorrit, and The Old Curiosity Shop. Among the actors appearing in these shows will be Derek Jacobi, Matthew MacFayden, Ian McKellen, and Daniel Radcliffe.

Linney’s Broadway credits include Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Crucible, Sight Unseen, and Holiday. She won the 2008 Emmy Award for HBO’s John Adams.
