Darlene Love to Present Christmas Show at Jazz at Lincoln Center; Campbell, Houston, Shaffer, Young to Guest Star

Hairspray star Darlene Love will present her annual Christmas show Love for the Holidays at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center at 7:30pm on Sunday, December 17.

For this one-night-only performance, she will be joined by Jersey Boys star John Lloyd Young, her Hairspray co-star Tevin Campbell, musician Paul Shaffer, R&B and gospel legend Cissy Houston, and the 20-voice Choice’s Way Choir. She will be singing many holiday standards, including her 1963 hit “Christmas Baby, Please Come Home.” She will perform that song on The David Letterman Show on Friday, December 22.

Love is currently playing Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray. Her previous Broadway credits include Grease, Leader of the Pack, and Carrie. She has been a popular recording artist for over 40 years, whose hits include “Da Doo Ron” and “He’s a Rebel.” Love is also well known for her role as Trish Murtagh in the Lethal Weapon series of films.
